Camogie & Hurling Féile 2020

Moorefield GAA have been given the great honour of being selected as a host club for this year’s camogie and hurling Féile na Gael competition . This is a national competition for children playing in u14 grades of camogie and hurling, with teams coming from all over Ireland to compete . The Club will be representing Kildare in the competition.

This is a great opportunity for our children, our club and our town, to make unforgettable memories, forge new friendships and create better links with the wider G.A.A community.

It will only be possible for Moorefield to enter teams and host the competition if we can get enough support from the parents of the children involved, coaches, players, Managers and the wider community of club members to host the children from the other teams attending. We would appeal to everyone to at least get vetted, even if you’re not entirely sure you can be a host, as this will ensure smooth running of the rest of the process.

We need a minimum of 12 host families for the visiting Hurling and Camogie teams for the  Fèile, from Friday June 5th to  Sunday 7th June.

If it is a case that we will be unable to accommodate children from visiting teams, we will unfortunately be left with no choice but to withdraw from hosting duties, which in turn means withdrawing our own children from competing in the Féile na Gael competition.

Requirements for hosts families

  • The visitors will need to be brought to the club for matches and other events held in Moorefield over the weekend.

  • Accommodation must be provided for 2 children, it is not permitted for a player to be accommodated alone.

  • Guests cannot share a room with a household member.

  • Everyone over 16 years of age, staying in the house when the visitors are being accommodated must be garda vetted. This is a simple thing to complete Vetting is a quick and simple process which is done online at the following link- https://gaa.flowforma.com/Lists/Forms/Metformin.aspx?Flowld=7

  • The last date the vetting forms can be submitted is the 14th February

Not only would you be helping the Club but you would be doing this for your own child to give them the chance to take part in this competition.

Please support your child and the club by hosting a family if you can. Contact the club or your child’s coach, or the Club Children’s officer on 0868942236 if you can help out,

Regards

Secretary Moorefield Camogie and Hurling.
